Sites like Facebook and Twitter are free Internet Marketing tools for companies to use. In October 2012, it was estimated that there were one billion people on Facebook and roughly 140 million people on Twitter.

Furthermore, word about your business/product/service can spread quickly. For instance, on Twitter, if one of your posts is re-tweeted, every single person that follows that person can see your post.
